After-School Program Overview
The after-school program will be open from August 2003 through
June 2003, falling in line with the Orangeburg County School Districts Calendar dates. The after school program will operate
from 3:00 pm until 7.00 pm. The children attending the after school program will be school-aged children, ages ranging from
5 to 13 years of age. The Program is expected to be a collaborated effort with the schools of Orangeburg County. We anticipate
setting up an arrangement to have the children bussed from their local school, to our facility, directly after school. Parents
will be responsible for making arrangements to pick up their own children. The Activity Coordinators and the Coach will be
responsible for the coordination of this program, with supervision of the organizations Program Director.
After School Program Staffing
The Program will have 5 paid staff members, all of who will be hourly
staff: (1) Program Director, (3) Activity Coordinator and (1) Coach and 5 Volunteer students.
Class Room Set-up: The classrooms will be set up by class grade levels: (1) K class, (1) 1st & 2nd
grade class, (1) 3rd, 4th and 5th grade class. There will be one Activity Coordinator in
the Kindergarten class, and two in each of the other classes. The Coach will have their own area for activities and will have
all of the children at a designated time.
Summer Enrichment Program:
The Summer Enrichment Program will be open from the week
after school ends, until the first week in August, falling in line with the Orangeburg County School Districts Calendar dates.
The Activity Coordinators and the Coach will be responsible for the coordination of this program, with supervision of the
organizations Program Director. The Summer Enrichment Program will operate from 7:30 am until 6:30 pm. The program will offer
a variety of scheduled classes and activities to include field trips and other learning experiences. The children attending
the after school program will be school-aged children, ages ranging from 5 to 13 years of age. Transportation will be the
responsibility of the parent(s), who will have to drop off and pick up their children. We will only provide transportation
in the event that we transporting the children on a field trip.
Summer Enrichment Program Staffing:

Field Trips: Field
trips will only be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fridays will be fun Friday when the teacher can decide what fun activity that
she wishes her class to participate in, such as outside time, games, reading, water sports, etc; Permission slips will be
given to children to take home and have their parents sign. No child will allowed to attend the field trip, if we do not have
a signed permission slip from the parent/guardian. Parents and or chaperons will be welcome to attend field trips. Safety
precautions will be in place to ensure the childrens safety while on the field trip. All children will be wearing a name tag,
identifying the name of the center, its address and telephone number, along with the childs name. Bag lunches will be provided
by the center for the children. Chaperones will be responsible for a small amount of children so that they will be able to
keep up with them, they will also be supplied with a list of the children in their group. If parents attend the trips, they
will be able to leave with their child after the field trip, as long as they let someone know that they have taken them before
hand.
